--A little about us---

  • We started as a Skagit Club back in 1999, went on to create Fiberglassics Northwest, and in 2008 revived this domain.  Many of us also belong to Northwest Classic Boat Club.
  • All makes and models of boats are welcome to use this website and cruise with us...fiberglass, wood, aluminum.
  • The emphasis here is on using the boats. We use our Skagit boats as a group, meaning......
  • It's more about the people than the boats! Friendships built here are up to 10 years strong. Most of the people and boats you see pictured here cruise together as a group and camp-cruise together as a group.
  • Many Skagit fiberglass boats are found in sad shape, but even the blackberries can't kill a Skagit. Many of the boats on the owner pages here were rescued from long periods of inactivity, and are now putting smiles on family faces. They're usually cheap to acquire and fairly inexpensive to own.
  • Scratch 'em a bit and enjoy 'em! Beach 'em! Life is short, we all say use the boat and hour meter, not the gloss meter.... we don't judge the boats, in fact we are happier cruising with a boat having battle scars than a pristine boat that becomes a trailer queen. No trailer queens here.
  • We take our wives, families, and friends (and our dogs, too!) with us exploring Puget Sound, rivers and lakes, so our loved ones can share these wonderful views!
  • Perry Mason drove a Skagit! Here's a pic from Episode 12, The Case of the Negligent Nymph, first aired 12/7/1957!

Here's a pic of a literal fleet of Skagit boats and others at the Skagit Plastics 50th Anniversary event held August 2005 on Swinomish Channel in La Conner, right across the water from the original Skagit Plastics Plant One.

Here's a pic of us beach camping at Hope Island July 2008, we use the boats as they were intended. Gotta get 'em wet to have fun!
