BillR's Skagit Boats
BillR bought his first Skagit in 1998, a 1956 Skagit 20 Chinook Express cabin cruiser. Currently, I own a 1956 Skagit 20 Chinook named Welike running a 1971 Fisher Pierce Bearcat 85hp 4 stroke outboard on a Panther tilt/trim bracket, a 1956 Skagit 20 Tyee Sports Coupe open utility which has run an XR2 V6 Merc but will soon run a Bearcat 85.
At one point in 2007, I also had 2ea 1956 SKagit 14 Cohoe runabouts, and all four boats ran during calendar year 2007.
However, as of 12/08, only Welike is launch-ready. I have owned Welike twice, and Tyee 3 times. You can take a man out of the Skagit, but not the Skagit outa the man
!

1956 Skagit 20 Chinook "Welike" and 1956 Skagit 20 Tyee "Ginny Lee" leading friends during Opening Day May 2006:

Welike running with her then new 140hp Merc Stack

Tyee during seatrials Aug 06 east end of Penn Cove, Whidbey Island near Coupeville. After buying her 3 times this was a great day. Not far from her birthplace!

Tyee hauled out after first seatrials, my mother Ginny Lee smiling since I named the boat after her:

Tyee hiking up her skirt at 45mph or so.....fun fun fun....!

Welike hiking up her skirt at 37mph or so....this was back in July 04 or so....

'nother shot of Tyee from port side taken by my friend Ted, test captain for a well known marine firm locally.......

Another shot of Welike, looks like a toy next to the yacht, shows her lines sans canvas top.

Another shot of Tyee Ginny Lee, lots of room in this boat!

Welike doing what she does best, act as my magic carpet ride to great destinations accompanied by my friends. Shown beached at Hope Island next to my buddy JimJ's 1962 Dorsett San Juan 19, wow what a nice boat that is too.....I want one!

Later in day joined by friends Jeff's '58 Skagit 20 and Greg's '59 Skaj 20.....even more fun!

Various shots of Welike's interior and exterior:

Some shots of my former 1956 Skagit 14 Cohoe. This boat was bought from a salvage yard sitting on pallets. Powered by a Merc 50 she did 32.3 on the gps, and I wish I still had her.
