Home of the "Skagiteers"
Our friend Bruce Drake has a few interesting boats.
First, he is now caretaker of a Skagit with some history behind her. Bruce bought longtime Skagiteers Scotty and Wendy's 1958 Skagit 20 Offshore, and had her renovated at Island Boatshop by Marty and Joe. When she was Wendy C, she was seen by Seafair hydro race spectators as a shore patrol boat for a few seasons, and for a long time that boat had the best Skagit Club attendance record bar none. (funny story, Bruce first bought Welike from me but found he and wife preferred the larger deck area of the Offshore model, so having seller's remorse when I got wind of that I showed up with cash not a check! We both win.)
Now she has new deck and transom, windshield, and more.
She's powered by a 2004 Mercury 115hp EFI 4 stroke, I've asked Bruce for more pics, which are forthcoming.

Cockpit helm area, also note she was painted by Island Boatshop, pretty darned close to the original blue!

Shot looking aft from helm showing new rear seat, lots of room in the Offshore cockpit area, which is why Bruce and wife selected her as their Skagit 20 cruiser of choice. Second boat of Bruce's is the upcoming Bell Boy 21 Express that is currently at Island Boatshop. This one is getting The Complete Renovation performed upon her. I've been aboard last May 2008 and she has a forward cabin most only dream of, this will be a real gold plater. These are big boats. Bruce jokingly sent the following picture and suggested it be titled Bell Boy Progress. So Marty call Bruce, not me, haha!

Actually the pic above is a real live Bell Boy sales tool, a fiberglass model from the Bellingham factory.
Bruce has a few collectible pieces of Bell Boy memorabilia.
