Home of the "Skagiteers"
Rick & wife Sarah are proud owners of a rare 1957 Skagit 17 Convertible. This boat was previously in the Greg Silcox family for eons.
While Greg had it he had Marty and Joe at Island Boatshop install new decks, foam bilges, and reconstruct the seating. This is an early SKagit with the monster stringers, and check out the Skagit Plastics craftsmanship with the fiberglass winsheild frame housing custom-cut automotive glass for all-weather performance.
Rick is continuing the 17 renovation by disassembling her for fresh paint at Island Boatshop's spray facility, after which he'll repower her with a solid Bearcat 55hp 4 stroke outboard from yours truly. He'll have much greater range on the existing fuel capacity, and will be able to boat in Lake Whatcom which is enforcing a two stroke outboard ban.
We'll update this page as Rick progresses with his project.
