Holmstroms Skagit magic
Capt Mike Holmstrom and family are well-known commercial salmon fishermen. They've run the family fishing operation for 60 years or so. Mike grew up with Skagit boats, and has recently owned a Skagit 14 and a Skagit 16.
Mike purchased the well-known Persimmon Princess from a barn alongside Highway 20 near Burlington where we had all seen her for years. She's a 1960 Skagit 18 with removeable hardtop.
Check out the before and after pictures, that's the faded gelcoat in first pics. We all had assumed she was pink! With an electric buffer and 3M professional fiberglass products, NO PAINT, they produced the results you see in the boat show picture! That is 48 year old Skagit gelcoat.
Also see the new E-tec Evinrude power. This exciting boat will launch in late 08 or very early 09 as long as Eric does it, if Mike does it then (yawn) it will be on Swedish-time. Oh boy.......

Here's Persimmon Princess awaiting some loving Skagiteer care.

This pic shows the underlying finish, boy was Mike getting excited about then......and I don't blame him.

So excited, he called Officer Clint who swooped over on the ST1100 on his way to arrest illegal gamblers, Kenny Rogers I heard. Notice Swedish Mike trying to look like a crab fisherman with his fake Vuarnet sunglasses. I heard he buys cheap ones because he loses them overboard a lot.

After hiring a pair of people with a buffer and 3M products, what can you say. If you find an old Skagit you might get this lucky.......

Finally, here's the new E-tec. What a nice package. You could have one too......
