Jim Roberts is Howard S. Roberts' son.
Having grown up around the launch of Skagit Plastics, Jim has great tales of the early days. Like his dad experimenting with different resins/hardeners/gelcoats in the refrigerator, early fires, it was all new applied technology in those days.
Jim knows layup thoroughly

Jim built a few boats of his own, and this is one of them. This boat he designed and built himself, basing it on a Skagit 25' hull. She is powered by a 440 Chrysler V8 with "some performance improvements". Engine value remains classified. Note the typical Roberts curved side windows on the windscreen.

She's resting at anchor here, lots of bow for a dry ride to the island getaway and beyond.
