Who doesn't know Marty Loken in the old boat circles. Marty brings an awful lot to the table in the old boat hobby, restoration ability, professional writer, professional photographer, running boats from Seattle to Inside Passage, and more.
He was the leader of FGNW from 2004 to 2008, and is launching the new Northwest Classic Boat Club in early 2009, to which this site will be linked.
He freely provides tech advice, and usually sponsors a How To seminar live at his shop in Nordland, WA. He can also restore your boat if you prefer working with your wallet to your hands,
www.islandboatshop.com is where you'll find him and Joe most days.
These pics are just a smattering of boats in his current inventory, more pics coming as they're on a dormant computer, the one that gets kicked and called names......
Here's an example of the SKagit 25, which was designed by Spaulding Naval Architects which was owned by Phil Spaulding. The 25 was actually released as the 24 in 1959 and at least 14 of those were launched as we have the serial number for John Berg's outboard 24. These are heavy-built boats, available in inboard or outboard form, and have wonderful ribbon striped mahogany interiors.

Here's a shot showing the contoured bow with ribs built-in for less flex.

Here's a 16 Ski-Master showing the molded glass interior, this one awaiting someone sponsoring a restoration no doubt.

Side view of same boat showing clean lines, these are 20" long shaft boats, very capable for their size.

Here's a 1959 Bell Boy 21, formerly owned by CSBC/FGNW member Patrick McKay, awaiting restoration. One is being restored for our friend Bruce Drake. These are big boats!
