In 2005 I organized the 50^th Anniversary Celebration hosted by Don & Sharon Lee in the Skagit homeport of La Conner, WA. It was arguably the biggest Skagit event we’ve ever had. Owners came from far and wide to attend this big event including “Aussie Jim” Knowles and his lovely wife Barbara, who were our special guests, flying in from Sidney, Australia for the event. Many important members were honored at this event including Bill Roberts, Ida Rae McDonald, Tim Jones, Jim Knowles, David Scott, Bruce Bridwell, Marty Loken. Both Bill Roberts and Doug Griffith were presented with “Lifetime Membership” achievement awards from the founder of Fiberglassics.com Kelly Wood, for their efforts in creating and building the Classic Skagit Boat Club. After the event many of the boats left for an extended cruise through the San Juan Islands led by Dick Dow and family on their beautiful Chris Craft “Itchin”.

After the event Jim Just, Doug Griffith family, Don Griffith family, Bruce Bridwell family, Jim and Barbara Knowles left for an extended cruise through the San Juan Islands led by Dick Dow and family on their beautiful Chris Craft “Itchin”. This was truly a once in a lifetime event, which included fantastic water throughout the week.
